Rimrock Opera Announces
Auditions
Rimrock Opera
will hold auditions for adults, High School and
older, for the chorus of Bizet's opera, Carmen.

When:
Sunday, November 9 and Sunday, November 16, 2008

Where:
MSUB Band Room-Cisel Hall

What to
bring: Come with a copy of your prepared solo
selection. The music selection should be
memorized, but that is not required. Your
selection can be from any genre of music: you do
not have to audition with a solo from opera.
Rimrock Opera’s staff pianist Sandi Rabas will
accompany you at no charge.

Who is
listening: Doug Nagel, General Director; and Dr.
Chris Sheppard, Adult Chorus Master, will
adjudicate the auditions.

Carmen is
sung in French with English dialogue

The
chorus will have intense music rehearsals before
staging begins. Chorus music rehearsals are
usually twice weekly. Chorus staging rehearsals
are usually weekends and one to two nights
during the week Staging begins March 7, 2009.
General
information: All Operas are professionally
produced and performed at the Alberta Bair Theater
in Billings, Montana. Professional sets, costumes,
and orchestra are used. To sing in the Adult Chorus
you must first have a ‘live’ audition.
