With a
wealth of insightful interviews and deft musical
performances, In Search of Beethoven,
released in 2009, is a thorough, thoughtful
examination of the great composer's life and times.
Rimrock Opera presents a showing of the documentary
film at Shiloh Methodist Church on Monday, April 12,
at 7:00 PM. Looking beyond the image of the
tortured, cantankerous personality, In Search of
Beethoven reveals someone quite different and far
more interesting. The film also captures 55
performances, from artists around the world,
presented chronologically --marrying it to
Beethoven’s biography and letters. A passionate
portrait of a romantic soul and a magnificent voyage
through some of the greatest music ever created,
In Search of Beethoven is a film
for music lovers and cinema buffs alike.
Admission is free.
Rimrock Opera will
have copies of the DVD available for sale. Guest
conductor Barbara Day Turner will introduce and
discuss the film. For more information call
