Derek Larson
Derek Larson holds a Master’s in Vocal Performance from the University of Oregon. Recently, Derek has sung the role of Hoffmann from The Tales of Hoffmann with the Cascadia Concert Opera and participated in the Astoria Music Festival as an apprentice singing the roles of Tamino from Die Zauberflöte, Eisenstein from Die Fledermaus, Pedrillo from Die Entführung aus dem Serail, and as Der Knarr in the Astoria Music Festival’s production of Wozzeck. Past roles include Gherardo in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Aeneas in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Bastien in Mozart’s Bastien und Bastienne and tenor soloist in Handel’s Messiah and Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day, Mozart’s Requiem, and Britten’s Cantata Academica.
