The role of Ramfis in Verdi’s masterpiece
marks Dennis Rupp’s 11th production with Rimrock Opera. The California native first came to Billings to create the role of Heinrich Skuller in Alva Henderson’s widely acclaimed
. Since that time he has enjoyed a wide array of roles for RO and was even asked to direct two, one act opera’s in RO’s summer festival of 2009. Mr. Rupp is delighted at the opportunity to continue this fruitful relationship with such a wonderful company.
Elsewhere in the United States, Mr. Rupp has performed leading roles with (among others) Anchorage Opera, Sacramento Opera, Long Beach Opera, Pacific Repertory Opera, Opera San Jose, Opera Nova, Opera Idaho, Los Angeles Opera Outreach and The Bear Valley Music Festival. His engagements have included the roles of Prince Gremin, Don Alfonso, Leporello, Don Basilio, Sarastro, Hoffman’s Four Villains and Figaro, to name but a few.
